1. Bottom-up vs. 2. Top down

#2 is the Archivist
DNA was founded to fill the gap in the Dutch theatre collection (2019).
The bottom-up method means that the artist enters data of the objects as an archivist. This method has several advantages, it saves time, and therefore money, one knows for sure that everything is correct. The copyright procedure - publication of the works - is skipped; the artist gives permission (or hides the data: action = set to 'non public')
The Artist/Designer has a say in the development of the digital platform: the data model, modules (project module), glossaries, etc.
Proposals can be entered via the 'Insert Issue' in the menu. The board ensures implementation after weighing.
The Artist/Designer remains the owner of its own data.
The Artist/Designer are not only Makers, but also collectors. The application was developed as a collection management system, and can therefore also be used by collectors.
The original model is Top down and built for museum collections (from 2000) and adapted to the Bottom up structure (2019)
Both are possible: User group permissions give access to the different applications.
