Introduction

INTRODUCTION
It is to your own choice how to use the archive.
We advise you to determine before you classify objects, documents, library items and events and how you wish to use them making online exhibitions and projects.
Think of the visitor of your archive while cataloguing, and decide which objects may be public, or need to be kept private.

IMPORTANT
Before you begin, look at the distinction between the Object Catalogue (your unique designs or Artworks), work added to performances or exhibitions in the Events history and/or adding Media or content to a Project

Object catalogue

OBJECT CATALOGUE
Consider all unique items as 'an object'.
Model, sketch, drawing, painting, monument, site, story, composition, etc.
Since you have the option to make objects public or not, also your less important work can be stored for private reference.

NOTE: A photo is archived as an object when made by the photographer as a unique picture.
An object needs a photo added to the metadata to visualise the object, in that case, the photo is a 'visual' -used to illustrate- not an object.
The same applies to Audio Visuals. They are 'Objects' when unique (e.g. movie, installation) or 'visuals' when used to document processes or intangibles.

Using the collection as a collector and not as an artist: When uploading objects you can also upload collected items from other makers. The object form makes that choice mandatory. In that case, your role is a collector and not the maker.

EVENTS HISTORY

111.285 events are listed, most events are imported from the Dutch Theater Encyclopedia.
New events are published by the producers.
Individual members can upload their own list of events in de 'Profile' section.

Members that activate their account will find all performances in which they have cooperated.
The new member can upload own visuals connected to the specific performance or event.
The result ultimately shows collected images of each performance uploaded by the various participants.

New events are uploaded by producers and include the names of the participants.

PROJECTS

You can start a project as a private project or as a shared production platform for you and your selected colleagues.
The 'production' platform offers task lists, agenda, concept text lists, blogs and storage of related media.

The 'type' or 'use' of the Project platform is defined by your own choice. By initiating a project you are automatically the Moderator of the project.

DOCUMENTS

All type of documents can be stored.
I.a. Contracts, Correspondence and Press clippings.

When editing Objects or working on a Project, documents can be uploaded and are -in that case- directly connected to the object or project.

All individual and linked documents are stored and to be found in your documents file.

LIBRARY

The library may be used to inventory your books, magazines, etc.

The choice needs to be made between 'General collection', 'Own editions', 'Professional related literature' and 'Work published' (catalogues with your work published).

EXHIBITIONS

Exhibition module is structured as a 'Tree':
1.Main subject or theme.
            2. Chapters; chronological, subjects, themes, i.a.
                        3. Connected objects from your collection database.

NOTE: you need to have collection objects uploaded before you can make an exhibition. We offer a standard template for your exhibition. You may also design your own front interface while using the data from your private account.

See one of our templates as used for the exhibition Jazz History

LEGACIES OF ARTISTS

Artists and designers can maintain their own archive in their private digital safe.
The Dynamic Archive also offers access to the archive to artists' heirs.
