How to use the Archive?

Brief introduction of its use

 START YOUR PRIVATE ARCHIVE

Introduction

It is to your own choice how to use the archive.
We advise you to determine before you upload objects, documents, library items and events and how you wish to use them to make your own online exhibitions.

Decide which objects may be public, or need to be kept private.

Object catalogue

Consider all unique items as 'an object'.
Model, sketch, drawing, painting, monument, site, story, media art, composition, etc.

Since you have the option to make objects public or not, also your less important work can be stored for private reference.

NOTE: A photo is archived as an object when made by the photographer as a unique picture.

Object description needs a photo added as part of the metadata to visualise the object, in that case, the photo is a 'visual' -used to illustrate- not 'the' object.
The same applies to Audio Visuals. They are 'Objects' when unique (e.g. movie, installation) or 'visuals' when used to document processes or intangibles.

When uploading objects you can also upload collected items from other makers. The object form makes that choice mandatory. In that case, your role is 'Curator' and not 'Maker'.

DOCUMENTS

All type of documents can be stored.
I.a. Contracts, Correspondence and Press clippings.

When editing Objects or working on a Project, documents can be uploaded and are -in that case- directly connected to the object or project.

All individual and linked documents are stored and to be found in your documents file.

LIBRARY

The library may be used to inventory your books, magazines, etc.

The choice needs to be made between 'General collection', 'Own editions', 'Professional related literature' and 'Work published' (catalogues with your work published).

EXHIBITIONS

Exhibition module is structured as a 'Tree':
1.Main subject or theme.
            2. Chapters; chronological, subjects, themes, i.a.
                        3. Connected objects from your collection database.

NOTE: you need to have collection objects uploaded before you can make an exhibition. We offer a standard template for your exhibition. You may also design your own front interface while using the data from your private account.

See one of our templates as used for the exhibition Jazz History

LEGACIES OF ARTISTS

Artists and designers can maintain their own archive in their private digital safe.
The Dynamic Archive also offers access to the archive to artists' heirs.

PROJECTS

You can start a project as a private project or as a shared production platform for you and your selected colleagues.
The 'production' platform offers task lists, agenda, concept text lists, blogs and storage of related media.

The 'type' or 'use' of the Project platform is defined by your own choice. By initiating a project you are automatically the Moderator of the project.

GENERAL INFORMATION

If you are working in the theatre environment, some of your works may already be stored in the database.
In that case, all the performances in which you have participated are already linked to your account.
