Following a visit to the MIPCOM in Cannes, my idea was born to set up a non-commercial children's film festival.
Han Hoogeland - at the time director of the Meertvaart- was enthusiastic about the concept proposal and the idea became a real festival.

The first festival was organized in cooperation with Burney Bos (VPRO), Ard Hesseling and the Meervaart team.
Martijn Sanders, Leonard Bernstein, Stephan Strickland and Hans Westra were members of the Committee of Recommendation.
